ACC and Transparency International commemorates African Anti-Corruption Day

The African Anti-Corruption Day is celebrated annually on July 11. The African Union Convention on Preventing and Combating Corruption (AUCPCC) was adopted in Maputo in 2003 and came into effect in 2006. Sierra Leone is one of the ratifiers which have given prominence to the fight against corruption.

Chelsea and Germany defender Antonio Rudiger will be conferred Sierra Leonean Citizenship by His Excellency the President Julius Maada Bio today. Antonio Rudiger was born to Sierra Leonean parents in Germany and plays for the German team.

The Legal Aid Board has organized a one-day training workshop for six newly recruited Paralegals in Freetown on Friday, 2 July 2021. This is part of an eight-month United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) funded project to support victims of Sexual and Gender Based Violence using community Legal Aid Board structures in three chiefdoms – Soa, Kamara, Gbense - in the Kono District.

Three Sierra Leone Airport Authority staff have successfully completed a five-day training on Performance Based Navigation (PBN) organized by the United ATS, the first Egyptian private company to provide Aviation Technology Services in the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

The training provided the trainees with the required knowledge to improve aviation safety , reduce the risk of controlled flight into terrain and loss of control in all weather conditions and reduce delay at airport and certain dense airspace.
