Sierra Leone’s Ambassador Designate to the Kingdom of Morocco, His Excellency Alhaji Momodu Koroma, presented his letter of credence to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, H.E. Nasser Bourita, on Friday 6th December 2024.
Upon receiving the letter, H.E. Nasser Bourita congratulated Ambassador Koroma on his appointment and welcomed him to Morocco. H.E. Bourita assured Ambassador Koroma of Morocco’s commitment to improving the bilateral relations between Sierra Leone and Morocco, especially in the areas of development and economic cooperation. He extended the message of goodwill and profound friendship from the government of Morocco to the government of Sierra Leone through the Ambassador.
In his response, His Excellency Alhaji Momodu Koroma extended a message of goodwill from his Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio to his Majesty the King, the government, and the people of Morocco. He also assured the Moroccan Foreign Minister of his determination to work steadfastedly to improve on the already amicable relationship between Sierra Leone and Morocco and enhance the level of bilateral cooperation.
Morocco and Sierra Leone share strong bilateral relations, and Ambassador Koroma aims to deepen the partnership between the two countries. Ambassador Alhaji Momodu Koroma brings a wealth of experience to further strengthen Sierra Leone’s relationship with Morocco for mutual benefit.
Appointed by His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, on 1st July 2024, Ambassador Koroma’s appointment was warmly received across the country, particularly by members of the ruling Sierra Leone People's Party. Following his appointment, Ambassador Koroma took leave of President Bio at State House on 8th October 2024 and arrived in Morocco on 3rd November 2024 to begin his tour of duty.
His Excellency Alhaji Momodu Koroma is the second Ambassador, following Atumanni Dainkeh to represent Sierra Leone in Morocco since the establishment of the Embassy on 27th August 2021. The aim is to deepen bilateral relations and boost investment in Sierra Leone.
